About
Tracie McBride, Certified Colon Hydrotherapist
I started my journey down the natural healing path in 1986 when I was introduced to Reike and massage therapy. A year later I received training in massage and began my practice as a massage therapist while living in Sun Valley, Idaho. I worked on athletes, vacationers and local residents. I met many of my clients on the slopes who would be in need of some sore muscle relief by the end of the day.
I began my interest in body cleansing, fasting and herbal cleanses since doing my first juice fast in 1979. Years later, my routine in Sun Valley was to do an intestinal cleanse in the spring at the end of ski season and in the fall when I was gearing up for the next ski season. I gave myself enemas while cleansing to get the most out of the cleansing process. When I learned of colon hydrotherapy, I was the first to sign up as it made total sense to me and I understood it. After receiving many colon therapy sessions and realizing the valley needed a colon hydrotherapist, I trained for my certification in 1990 and added this service to my practice.
I gave massage and colonics in the Wood River Valley until 1996, when I moved my practice to Boise. After 3 years in Boise, I decided to make another life change and moved to Portland, Oregon to go to art school, another passion of mine. While in art school I continued giving colon hydrotherapy to patients at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM). After spending 6 years in Portland, in 2005 I returned to the Boise community I love most and set up my colon therapy practice once again.
In my free time I enjoy creating mixed media art and display at art shows.
